Development discussions and observations - an important part of educational work

The educational work at the kindergarten involves much more than just caring for the children. A central element is the continuous observation of the individual development of each child – both in everyday life and as part of targeted educational programs.

These observations are structured and documented using standardized sheets and forms. They serve to provide a differentiated assessment of the children’s current level of development and to identify their strengths and possible support needs at an early stage.

Particular anomalies – both positive and challenging – are discussed in close cooperation with the educational partners. A development meeting is also held once a year. In this meeting, the observations from everyday educational activities are combined with the family’s impressions. Specific measures and next steps are discussed together to ensure the best possible support for the child.

The aim of these discussions is to strengthen a trusting cooperation between the kindergarten and the family and to accompany and support the development of each child individually.
