The toy-free kindergarten - focus on creativity
An exciting project is being launched at the Schmetterling kindergarten: the “toy-free kindergarten”. This involves gradually removing the usual toys and replacing them with unstructured materials such as natural materials. The aim is to promote the children’s creativity, social skills and emotional development.
The children organize their free play in completely new ways, invent their own games and build exciting constructions with the new materials. The active participation of the children is particularly important – they help decide which toys go back into the room and which do not.
This project shows how much potential there is in simple materials and how children can develop their social and creative skills in a creative, open environment. A successful step towards more initiative and community in kindergarten.
