English version
We are a Montessori Kindergarten. Maria Montessori, who has developed and successfully applied, this educational scheme, as herself lived such a special education. We have accepted it. It shows daily how beautiful it is to work with children. It is most important to us to recognize each child as a complete human, to accept him/her as such and to watch and record the personality of each child.
As we are a multicultural Kindergarten we put value upon different Languages and cultures of other countries. We offer help if he/she asks. We try to educate self supporting humans, we work with children in small groups, achieve common projects and hold celebrations the theme is chosen by the kids them selves. The bigger kids help the smaller if they need help. The younger kids enjoy it when the older ones play with them. The outside order helps to keep inner order and therefore we put high value on a prepared environment. Each week have a fieldtrip and bring nature closer to the children. We open access to the environment for the children to handle materials with respect.
We adults move to the level of children and therefore co-existence becomes a beautiful experience. It helps the small and the big humans to find a good common base.
Projects
For the 2009/2010 school year we have chosen to work on the theme COLORS. We would like to share with you how the school year will be organized. September 2009: Rainbow colors and red. All the colors are gathered together. Together we build a large rainbow bridge with various large and small boxes, that leads us into Colorland. There, every color has its own house and so we experience every color in a different month. October 2009: orange, brown November 2009: brown, violet December 2009: gold, silver January 2010: white February 2010: black, gray March 2010: blue April 2010: green May 2010: yellow June 2010: pink The whole year the Shadow-Witch also accompanies us with her pestering through Colorland. The Light-Dwarf teaches us a magic word to make the Shadow-Witch disappear. The Color-City that we build will steadily grow as we add each month's Color-House. Many different experiments, color-days, games, songs, cooking recipes, ..., will round out the year. By the end of the school year, we will be able to easily recognize the primary and secondary colors.
